Mama San has become one of the top five renown and iconic restaurants in Bali. Inspired by the paintings of Vladimir Tretchikoff, the Mama San madam of the house was created to oversee the room and proceedings, attune with the restaurant name and interior design. She quickly became synonymous with the brand and has been used as the primary brand asset in promotional and marketing material. Mama San Hong Kong and Mama San Kuala Lumpur restaurants soon opened thereafter and also use the iconic painting as the interior centrepiece.
